This morning, the NHL announced the start times for every game in the 2021-22 NHL season. The start times for each Seattle Kraken game are shown in the graphic below, courtesy of NHL PR:
A few observations about the start times:
- The Kraken’s first ever regular season game will start at 7:00PM on October 12th in Las Vegas against the Golden Knights.
- Seattle’s home opener will start 7:00PM on October 23rd against the Vancouver Canucks.
- 34 of the Kraken’s 41 home games will start at 7:00PM.
- The Kraken have five home 6:00PM start times, all on Sundays. Every Sunday home game will start at 6:00PM.
- There are two Kraken home games that aren’t a 6:00 or 7:00 start time. The first is January 17th against the Chicago Blackhawks, which starts at 2:00PM Pacific Time. The afternoon start is likely due to the game being held on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The second is April 9th against the Calgary Flames, which starts at 4:00PM.
- There’s a notable lack of weekend matinee games. Usually teams will have an occasional 1:00PM start time on Saturdays or Sundays. We’ll have to wait until at least next season for the Kraken to have one.
